Model Warship Combat Nationals is coming to Veteran's Lake in Ramsey
July 14-18.

Model warship combat is a hobby where members build and
battle warships from WWI & WWII. Each ship is armed with CO2 powered bb
cannons and a pump. The bb cannons make holes in the thin balsa wood
skins of the ships. The pumps pump the water out keeping the ship afloat
until too many holes are taken, then the ship will sink. All of the
electronics are water proofed and repair time after a sink is just
patching the skin. Twenty minuets after a sink you are ready to battle
again.

This hobby has been around since the early 1980's and has members
all over the USA, in Canada and Australia. This is the first time
Nationals has been held in Minnesota. The event is open to the public.
Battles start at 10am and go until 3pm Monday (14th) to Thursday (17th).
Friday battles end at noon.
